Fubo Takes on Sling TV With a New Sports Bundle

Fubo Takes on Sling TV With a New Sports Bundle

If you’re a die-hard sports fan looking for ways to stream all your favorite teams, Fubo TV announced a new “skinny” sports package worth considering. At $56 per month, I don’t know if skinny is the right word, but it’s packed with all the essential channels you’ll need for the NFL, NCAAF, and countless other sports as we head into football season.

The streaming landscape is constantly changing, prices keep going up, and more and more bundles are appearing by the day. For example, ESPN has a new All Access service, Fox One launched last week, and YouTube now owns the rights to the NFL Sunday Ticket. As a result, trying to watch football is getting rather difficult without traditional cable.

That’s where Fubo TV’s new “Fubo Sports” package comes in, offering 20+ broadcast networks for professional and collegiate sports. At launch, Fubo Sports will include your typical local broadcast stations like ABC, CBS, and Fox, plus additional affiliates in select markets. Those affiliate networks are what you need for NCAAF, like AAC Network, Big 10 Network, CBS Sports Network, and others.

The service also includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPNU, Fox News, FS1, FS2, Fubo Sports Network, ION, NFL Network, SEC Network, and Tennis Channel. I don’t know about you guys, but that sounds like a jam-packed lineup sure to get you access to all the biggest sporting events. Fubo’s announcement mentioned 4K content, but it’ll be limited to select content and vary in availability.

More importantly, your subscription to Fubo Sports will also include ESPN’s new Unlimited plan, which includes ESPN+ content. Basically, this means you’ll be able to live stream endless sports from all the major providers, regional affiliate networks, ESPN, and special ESPN+ content, all for only $56 per month.

The company is offering a one-time $10 discount. You can sign up for $46 to start, and then the price will increase to $55.99 per month. Fubo CEO David Gandler said, “At Fubo, we have always believed a streaming service must provide consumers with multiple, flexible and more affordable content options—and that consumers should be able to subscribe to the content they choose. The launch of Fubo Sports will add another content tier to our broad portfolio, super-serving passionate sports fans.”

While Fubo TV’s package isn’t the cheapest streaming bundle, which now goes to Sling TV and its $20 select tier, we haven’t seen a full-fledged package built specifically for sports like this. For what it’s worth, YouTube TV offers most of this, but it’ll run you $83 per month. DirecTV also offers lucrative streaming packages, but nothing focuses on sports quite like Fubo TV.

For those new to Fubo TV, it offers a wide selection of packages in addition to the new Sports line. Fubo also employs several features, like Multiview to watch multiple games simultaneously, Catch Up to Live, Game Highlights, Timeline Markers, and more. It’s a solid option worth trying out with a free trial.
